We’re capping off the month with our Top Five Favorites, which are based on your favorite posts. So without further adieu and in no particular order, here are our Top Five for the month of October 2019:
What really puts this Earl Grey Caviar Martini from Hong Kong’s multisensory bar, Quinary, over the top is its highly experiential and visual component of having a big tower of foam that really tastes and smells like Earl Grey. It is celebrated by camera flashes every time one is served and a drinker tries to take that fun first sip from the glass without getting foam on his or her nose. Tip: drink this with your head tilted back, similarly to how one takes a heady pint of Guinness. The Earl Grey Martini has gained much notoriety in a short period of time that even the The Bar Awards for Hong Kong was compelled to name it drink of the year.
Enjoy your food and drink in the relaxed and refined environment of this amazing space. There’s even a special section in this bar that resembles a greenhouse, with glass walls and a glass ceiling. This particular spot might just be one of the best in Poblacion, with a romantic view of the stars and the moonlight right above you when visiting the restaurant at night time.
Satu Satu Coffee Company, Bali
What is Bali coffee all about? Satu-Satu Coffee Company in Canggu is trying to be the living answer to this question. It’s the place to go if you want to experience locally grown coffees. Driving this mission is the Sudana family. They’re renowned for their coffee plantations throughout Bali and only use traditional Balinese methods to produce their coffee. The Indonesian Government has recognized this as something unique and is now giving support to help further the Satu-Satu mission.
Goffa is a cozy little coffee shop in Scout Rallos that you can only stumble onto in person, since they’re not on social media. It’s just a little under a year old and has a classy, slightly old-fashioned interior. The pebble wash flooring, dark wood-panelled walls, and solid wood tables make you feel like you walked into someone’s home. There are even baskets to store your bags in so you don’t have to put them down on the floor.
Newly opened in BGC, Because Coffee by Harlan + Holden is a good cafe to grab a quick drink when in the area. Especially if you’re the type of person that doesn’t like to carry around cash. They’ve developed a cashless system for their coffee shop where you can order online via their app or on a tablet provided in the store. You then pay with your card and grab your coffee at the end of the bar. You can even order before you arrive at the store and simply pick it up when you get there.
