We’re capping off the month with our Top Five Favorites, which are based on your favorite posts. So without further adieu and in no particular order, here are our Top Five for the month of September 2019:
The name is something of a running joke in multiple movies and TV shows as a popular fake name for unknown or generic places. Run by witty and pun-loving, old school pros including bartender champions and sommeliers, they’ve managed to create a crowd that appreciates fine drinks and are very social.
They recently made the jump and opened their own cafe inside the Sekai Center along Ortigas Avenue. The outpost serves as a showroom and sampling venue for all the different coffees they’ve acquired from around the world. Clients come to the spacious, serene, and brightly lit space to talk shop and seek professional advice while enjoying some excellent brews.
It’s a safe haven for patrons trying to escape the bustling crowds of party-goers in the Poblacion area in Makati. It’s a must-visit if you’re just in town to enjoy a proper cocktail in your own cozy corner. You can’t really enjoy a good conversation with friends at the wealth of cool spots in the area. And the bartenders here treat you like you’re being welcomed home every visit.
Everything has a purpose here, like this hanging tote bag, which serves as a “framed“ illustration of their shop. A block of wood becomes a place to rest your drink. Wooden benches face each other so people can interact more while also making way for customers to pass. There isn’t a single item in Mannaka’s stall that doesn’t serve some kind of purpose, and it says a lot about the amount of attention they pay to each and every detail in their little store.
A very tiny, charming cafe squeezed into the side of a building overlooking a playground. Although it’s a tight location, the shop doesn’t feel like it’s lacking anything. They have a cult following of regular take-out crowds that like to drop in and get coffee quickly, with Wintons a part of their everyday routine.
