Crema & Cream Coffee Roasters has been around for quite a long time, but it wasn’t until recently that they opened up their own cafe. Originally they were roasters supplying cafes and restaurants, but now they even serve food.
Situated in Quezon City in Metro Manila, the new cafe’s approach to curating coffee is ambitious and they aim to elevate the cafe dining experience. Their diverse food menu’s main purpose is to compliment the varieties of coffee their roastery offers. Take this pork rib for example, served with different layers of sauces and featuring a tasty caramelization. It pairs well with their pour over from Burundi and its sweet and fruity notes. The flavors and textures tease and compliment each other, resulting in a delicate dance of flavor. Food quality should never be neglected in a cafe setting, and we applaud Crema & Cream for creating a holistic cafe experience.
We always make it a point to order their single origin coffees which they roast in house and take great pride in. Specifically, during this season, we find that their roast from the South Philippines to be exceptionally good. Known as the Kalasan Sweet, they have been working on this specific coffee for quite a long period of time, continuously trying to improve it. The first time we tried it, it was already good. Distinctly floral, with a very delicate taste. And when we came back to try the same single origin with a new style of roasting we find that as they explore it, they were able to unlock different aspects to improve the coffee. That in itself is a testament to their commitment to excellence and constant growth as a micro-roaster.
If you plan to visit, don’t miss out on the food — like their roast beef sandwich, which is really good — but don’t forget about the star, which is their single origin pour overs.
