Along Sct. Gandia Street, a place locals have fondly nicknamed as the “Scout Area” of Quezon City, you will find Prologue. This neighborhood kitchen restaurant fits right in in this district known for quality comfort food.
They even have an in-house roasting company, Origin Roaster. We tried out the “HIRO” blend, as a cafe latte. Composed of beans from Brazil, Ethiopia, and Indonesia, the resulting cup had a well-balanced aroma, body, and flavor. The coffee, as described on the label, is a well rounded medium roast with rich flavor and smooth finish. The milk, however, was a tad over steamed and had a watery mouthfeel instead of being creamy.
Order off their extensive food menu, and you’ll learn that everything is handmade. From the pizza dough to the fresh pasta. Even the complimentary bread! It’s baked in-house and they serve it as you wait. Sitting in their main dining room, you get a view of their open kitchen, where during the dinner rush you can see all their chef’s hard at work, quickly moving about as if keeping up with a metronome. Not a beat is missed as they saute, broil, sauce, and plate the dishes they send out for service. Whether you choose to settle at their comfy alfresco area, sit on their cozy couches, or pick a big square or round table in their main dining area you’ll find that this is a great venue for a casual get-together with family and friends.
