Kurasu is on a mission to spread the beauty of Japanese coffee culture around the world. Their bar inside The Company, a coworking space in Singapore located just a couple of minutes away from City Hall MRT station, is their first shop outside of Japan. It is a simple set up but conveniently accessible to those working inside the building and regularly walking in and out of the space.
They are well equipped and filled with some of the prettiest coffee accessories and brewing equipment we’ve ever seen, like their sandstone drippers, ceramic mugs and slick kettles, most of which are handcrafted in Japanese artisan communities.
Their coffee beans are roasted by several of Japan’s highly respected roasters from different regions and are delivered fresh to their Singapore cafe on a weekly basis. The beans are for sale in store too, of course, packaged in that thoughtful, minimalist manner that the Japanese are widely admired for.
Even in their little corner in central Singapore, Kurasu offers guests a glimpse into their culture, not only through their selection of specialty coffees but also through their exquisite design sensibilities.
