We came across this preset pressure profile on our DE1PRO decent espresso machine called the Espresso Forge Dark, EspressoForge is a manual pressure espresso machine that uses a piston and cylinder mechanic to apply pressure onto the coffee puck.
It’s imitated by the decent by having a low pressure and low temperature preset. The espresso forge dark is a good preset for medium to dark roasts when you want to bring out fruity flavor notes.
With 18.0 grams of coffee in, the profile starts extraction with a quick low-pressure preinfusion for 7 seconds at 4 bars of pressure, which goes up to 7 bar and then decreases through the course of the brew, for a pouring time of 39 seconds at a low temperature of 82.5°C. The total weight of the espresso after extraction was at 40 ml. Swipe to see the chart.
Using our house blend beans, the DC7 blend, comprised of Guatemala Huehuetenango, Colombian Supremo, and Northern Philippines coffees, our shot produced a burnt but sweet aroma that reminded us of fried banana coated with brown sugar, it had quite a nutty and molasses flavor note followed by a dark cocoa aftertaste, with low acidity. The body left a smooth mouthfeel which made for a pleasant experience, balance in flavor is ideal for daily consumption. The Espresso Forge Dark was smooth and sweet but had familiar flavors that are easy to consume.
