Babros Coffee in Ho Chi Minh City has had several homes, but today we’d like to flash back to their original coffee bar that stood in the fringes of the sprawling metropolis’ District 1. Identified to us by several local baristas as the authentic Japanese coffee experience in Saigon, Babros — and the two Japanese partners who roasted and hand brewed each pour over — didn’t disappoint. Furthermore, the community vibe in this coffee shop was unique and fun. Large groups of friends gathered at the big, dining room style tables, while ambient tunes were played by a guitar-playing regular guest who would pull up song tabs on Google to fill the room with live, impromptu entertainment or even group singing. What a fantastic, multi sensory experience!
